We regret to announce the loss of a brilliant book author, lover of culture, and activist on this past Saturday, June 9th, 2012. Elite TV News staff and The S.O.G. Crew would like to take this time to pay respect to a great man, Conrad Donald “Big D‟ Garcia, and offer our condolences to his family and to the San Fernando Valley. Our prayers go out to the family and friends of such a great inspiration.

“I was saddened when I heard the news of the loss of Donald Garcia. I spent time with Mr. Garcia and was encouraged by his love for Latin communities. He inspired me as a book author, activist and a teacher of Chicano studies. I believe he’s the one that pushed me to pursue work in the field of gang intervention. He was also my partner and he promoted our 2007 “Up That Game” album release throughout the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles area. I appreciated our relationship because he was a man of God and he inspired activism in me. Big D will never be forgotten, he will always be remembered. Rest in peace. Our prayers go out to his family.” Dr. Robert ‘Battle Ax’ Ornelas, U.S. Vice Presidential Candidate 2012 AIP

“From sinner to saint, from criminal to confessor, from enemy of the “Cops” to a brother in the Lord who worked with Law Enforcement to stop gang violence, the story of Donald “Big D” Garcia is a wonderful and amazing testimony of the Power of God to change someone society would classify as evil and incorrigible. His life story is one that gives hope to the hopeless by showing them that no one is ever too far into the “darkside” to be brought into the “Kingdom of Light.” All who read this book will be moved to tears at God’s faithfulness and love as His Holy Spirit works patiently to introduce Donald Garcia to his Savior.”  Commander Naval Paniccia, Los Angeles, Police Department

“Donald Garcia was man of conviction and compassion. Impacting a city’s life by the power of God.” Jack Hayford, President of International Foursquare Church and Chancellor of The King’s College and Seminary

In his life he finished the race as an independent thinking true man of God whose testimony and example has touched more lives and helped more men change and come to know the love of Christ than few men I have ever known.  His testimony stands in a category of its own as a clear and undisputed testament to the love and changing power of God. His place in heaven is assured.  (Revelations 3:21) “To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne  (Matthew 25:21) “… Well done my good and faithful servant…” Rest in peace. Angel Barrientos LA Familia Ministry Denver
